TRANS Family Services held its inaugural town hall on 18 September 2026 at Heartbeat@Bedok, themed “Preserving Our Heritage; Shaping Our Future”. The session brought staff from all centres together to reflect on the growth of the organisation and its people.
CEO Jermaine Quek and Senior Director Cherylene Aw introduced the Strategic Transformation Framework, setting out the direction that will guide the organisation over the next five years.
A highlight of the day was a panel discussion with two of our service users, Vi and Z, who shared their experiences working with our caseworkers. Vi spoke with depth and clarity about the importance of somatic awareness, drawing on her own reading into neuroscience. Z brought her characteristic warmth and spirit, offering a glimpse into how her relational strengths help her connect and rally those around her.
Their sharing offered practical inspiration for how our work can grow, whether through bringing clients closer to nature, or helping them shape a personal talent into something purposeful. It underlined the value of holding both priorities at once: attending to families’ immediate needs, while actively building on their existing strengths.
The day wrapped up with a group discussion on how staff could translate the approaches in our Strategic Transformation Framework into everyday practice. Looking ahead, TFS recognises that the path forward won’t be without its challenges, but remains focused on growing our people, deepening partnerships and refining the systems that support our work.
