Family Violence Protection & Sexual Violence Recovery

Protection Specialist Centre

TRANS SAFE Centre is a Protection Specialist Centre (PSC) dedicated to promoting safe relationships within families and the wider community. We provide specialised support to individuals and families affected by abuse – including victim-survivors and persons who have used violence – with the aim of breaking cycles of harm to make way for healing, accountability, and safety for all involved.

Core services provided by TRANS SAFE Centre include:

Intake and Referral

We provide consultations for individuals and families seeking support, offering guidance and, where necessary, referrals to other community partners.

Casework and Counselling

We adopt a trauma-informed, family-centered and collaborative approach in working with individuals, their families as well as other relevant partners in the community to promote long-term safety and enhance their emotional, psychological, and social well-being.

Application for Personal Protection Orders

We facilitate applications for Personal Protection Orders (PPOs) for survivors of family violence through online conferencing with the Family Justice Courts. Through this process, survivors are able to tap on timely professional support while exploring their safety plans.

Currently, application of PPO is prioritised for high-risk and vulnerable clients. Please call in to enquire further.

Legal Clinic for Older and Vulnerable Adults

Our team of volunteer lawyers, alongside our social workers, provide free legal consultation and social support for older and/or vulnerable adults* and their families who may be at risk of abuse or neglect. Our legal clinic is by appointment only with a lead time of 1-2 weeks.

*A vulnerable adult is defined as an individual aged 18 and above, who by reason of mental or physical infirmity, disability or incapacity, is incapable of protecting himself from abuse, neglect or self-neglect.

Sexual Violence Recovery

We provide holistic care and support to victim-survivors in coping with the traumatic and often lasting impact of sexual violence. A variety of modalities including case management, counselling, expressive and somatic therapies are employed to support clients in their healing journey, where appropriate.

Community Engagement and Capacity Building

We believe that the community has a stake in jointly preventing and addressing the social issue of domestic violence. Our engagement efforts include talks/ workshops targeted at different segments of society with the aim of raising awareness and building capacity to effectively identify and respond to tell-tale signs of domestic violence.
