First Community Farming Partners Meeting & Appreciation Lunch

On Saturday, 20 December 2025, TRANS Family Services (Bedok) proudly hosted its first Community Farming Partners Meeting & Appreciation Lunch, bringing together community partners, residents, and volunteers who have been instrumental in nurturing its community rooftop garden.

The session was a meaningful walk down memory lane, as participants reflected on the garden’s growth journey from its early beginnings to its current flourishing state. To date, the garden has supported the cultivation of over 30 varieties of herbs and vegetables, with harvests benefiting more than 50 households through various donation drives.

Beyond the appreciation lunch, the meeting also served as a platform for open discussion. Participants exchanged ideas and explored practical solutions to sustain the garden and deter acts of mischief at the rooftop garden, reaffirming a shared commitment to maintaining the space for the community’s benefit.

The gathering marked an important milestone in our community farming journey—one rooted in partnership, shared ownership, and collective care. Thank you to our dedicated residents, volunteers, and partners from the Singapore Police Force, East Coast Town Council, NParks, Rainbow Ville Residents’ Network, City Sprouts for your collective support.

Celebrating Strength, Connection and Community – Migrant Brides Project

On a Saturday afternoon, TRANS Family Services marked Mother’s Day with a special programme for our migrant mothers and their children. The celebration provided a welcoming space for participants to share experiences and affirm one another, and build new friendships over a meal. Beyond celebrating Mother’s Day, the gathering also offered an opportunity for participants to share their hopes, interests and ideas for future activities, helping to shape a community that is supportive, empowering and participant-led. While mothers actively participated in the discussion, their children were engaged in making keychains from air-dry clay facilitated by volunteers. We are grateful to all the mothers, children, volunteers and staff who contributed to making the day a joyful and memorable one. Through initiatives such as the Migrant Brides Project, TRANS Family Services remains committed to fostering meaningful connections, strengthening support networks, and creating opportunities for women and families to thrive together.

Celebrating Social Work Day 2026

On 30 March 2026, TRANS Family Services celebrated Social Work Day to honour the people who make our impact possible. The event featured a panel sharing of overseas learning experiences, alongside activities that encouraged creative and out-of-the-box thinking. It aimed to broaden perspectives grounded in social work values and inspire more innovative approaches to practice. Appreciating and investing in every member of our team — frontline and administrative alike — is not just a once-a-year occasion, but a commitment we carry forward in how we can best serve our community.

CNY Lo-Hei and Intergenerational Crafts at Bedok

In celebration of Chinese New Year, our 37 Happy Healthy Hour (H3) seniors welcomed 47 Kindergarten 2 (K2) students from MOE Kindergarten @ Fengshan Primary School for an intergenerational craft activity. In pairs, the seniors and children worked hand-in-hand to decorate the Chinese character “福” (fortune) using crepe paper and glue. Seniors had the opportunity to guide and interact with the children while engaging their fine motor skills, and the children explored their creativity and practised expressing their ideas with confidence. As they discussed colours and designs, the room quickly filled with laughter and conversation. The session created a heartwarming opportunity for both generations to connect and celebrate the festive season together.
