In celebration of Chinese New Year, our 37 Happy Healthy Hour (H3) seniors welcomed 47 Kindergarten 2 (K2) students from MOE Kindergarten @ Fengshan Primary School for an intergenerational craft activity. In pairs, the seniors and children worked hand-in-hand to decorate the Chinese character “福” (fortune) using crepe paper and glue. Seniors had the opportunity to guide and interact with the children while engaging their fine motor skills, and the children explored their creativity and practised expressing their ideas with confidence. As they discussed colours and designs, the room quickly filled with laughter and conversation. The session created a heartwarming opportunity for both generations to connect and celebrate the festive season together.
On 27 February 2026, TRANS FOCUS Active Ageing Centre organised a Chinese New Year celebration for seniors, bringing together members, volunteers and community partners for a morning of festive activities and engagement. The programme included musical performances, mass singing, line dance, a skit, multiple rounds of lucky draws and a Best Dress Contest. Participants also received welcome tea from Heng Foh Tong Medical Hall and oranges to mark the festive occasion. The celebration concluded with lunch and a communal Lo Hei session, symbolizing wishes for health, prosperity, and unity in the year ahead. The event was supported by corporate volunteers from Maybank and one volunteer from TRANS Family Services, who assisted with event coordination, registration, crowd engagement, and activity facilitation. Their contributions ensured the smooth running of the programme and created a meaningful and inclusive festive experience for our seniors.
TRANS Family Services hosted a special Volunteer Engagement Lunch on 17 January 2026, bringing together volunteers for an afternoon of connection, learning, and appreciation. The event was the first of its kind as volunteers were invited to bring along a family member or friend, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The programme featured icebreaker games, a quiz on the history of TRANS Family Services, and a sharing session to help volunteers better understand our work and discover upcoming volunteering opportunities. A highlight of the session was a sharing panel where experienced volunteers shared their personal journeys, meaningful moments, and reflections on volunteering with TRANS Family Services - offering valuable insights and inspiration to fellow participants. The gathering concluded with a hearty lunch enjoyed by all participants. We extend our sincere thanks to the participants who joined us and contributed to the vibrant session, as well as to the Volunteer Management Subcommittee which thoughtfully planned and executed this meaningful and memorable session.
